Värnamo - Oxtorget
In 2005-2006, Finnvedsbostäder built 40 energy-saving apartments in the Oxtorget district of Värnamo. The aim of the project was to offer newly-built, energy-efficient apartments with low rental charges and maintenance costs.
The 40 apartments are divided over five 2 or 2.5 storey buildings.
The apartments are ventilated by an FTX system with an 85% heat recovery efficiency, according to the manufacturer. The intake air filter is class EU7. The radiators are electric, with a maximum output of 900 W and 1800 W respectively, depending on the size of the apartment.
Solar panels have been fitted to the roof. Each building has a sub-station which supplies one house. Hot water requirements not covered by the solar panels are provided by an electric cartridge.
The energy use for heating and hot water was estimated at 45 kWh/m² per year, but the actual figure turned out to be 38 kWh/m² per year (the total energy use incl. household electricity is 67kWh/m² per year).
Energy-saving electrical appliances and light fittings are used throughout the apartment, including A++ white goods.
Electricity and tap water are individually metered in each apartment.
Comments
Planned approx. 15 kWh/m² per year for heating at an indoor temperature of 22°C
